"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain."

There’s beauty in the blackness.
There’s relief in the pain.
Why should I keep trying
If there’s nothing left to gain?
Joy brings disappointment.
It’s left me cold and numb.
There’s no one who could understand;
I am the only one.
I want to feel the hurting
So I can leave this world behind.
I’m tired of being lectured;
You’ll never change my mind.
Wow, the sunset’s pretty.
It’s waving me goodbye.
In just another moment
I’ll be soaring through the sky.
But why does its farewell feel like
It will soon be coming back?
Like it’s promising to return
And renew this world of black.
Maybe I’ll stay just one more night
To see if its words are true.

And maybe, just maybe
They really will be, too.

The author's comments:
I thinks this poem's pretty much self explanatory. I know that everyone goes through rough times, and every single person in this world is fighting their own battle right now, no matter how small. I know from experience that it often feels like you'll never be able to get out of that black place inside your head, like it's just not worth it. But I've learned that every sunset brings a new beginning. The sun always comes back. Always.
