I Am...

(New Student Perspective)
I am shy and afraid.
I wonder if they even see me.
I hear the murmurs and rumors about me,
I want to be like them.
I am shy and afraid.
I pretend to be confident, unchanged by the stares.
I feel alone.
I touch my necklace as I worry what people think.
I cry because no on will ever understand how hard this is.
I am shy and afraid.
I understand that it may take a while to settle in.
I say "Hello," and hope for an answer.
I dream that I'll make a friend tomorrow.
I try to be myself, try not to act scared.
I hope to become more than just "The New Kid,"
But,
I am shy and afraid.

Beautiful, I especially loved the little details of the poem, the quoting of new kid and hello, and the touching of the necklace, like she was seeking comfort from something familiar. Amazing work, you are some kind of a triple threat :) Amazing photography, phenominal watercolor, and quietly gorgeous poetry.
