The Self-fulfilling Prophecy
When the world screams hate you're loathful;
 When the world shrieks love you care.
 For when the people as one do expel and shun,
 No option is left you there.

 When a band think themselves greater
 Than the other guys next door,
 There is not a chance in hell to then stop the swell
 Of young fools gone off to war.

 When the world sees witches, you're cursed;
 When it feels plague, you sicken.
 Of such a bias mandate, vain to validate,
 Infection does just quicken.

 When called ugly, the mirror will break;
 When called clumsy, balance fails.
 If told there is not a need to try and succeed
 Resolve is riddled with nails.

 The epic of man is ageless,
 Continuing evermore.
 All the mistakes of the past are holding on fast
 Just as novel as before.

 The cycle is perpetual,
 As old as Adam himself.
 So, would it be all that strange to not expect change
 From someone such as myself?
