No one saw us this evening hand in hand
“No one saw us this evening hand in hand while the blue night dropped on the world”
(After Pablo Neruda)
Walking hand in hand
Never felt so right
As it did that night.
I can remember it all.
The sky got darker.
The water grew colder.
Our hands got warmer.
Our pace lessened to soft steps.
No one can see us.
No one could touch us.
No one could hear us.
No one could dare ruin this.
Yes, that lovely night
And the way we felt
I will never forget.
We will walk hand in hand again.
