Words - so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and evil they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne

As I collapse in my bed at the end of each day,
I wonder where God is- He feels far away.
My tears wet my face as I cry out to Him,

“What have I done? Is there unconfessed sin?

My burden is heavy. My strength is all gone.
God, I can’t do this. I just can’t go on.”
My crying is silent, no one can hear
The sound of my weeping, the flowing of tears.
But He Did.
He reached down and touched me; He knew all my grief.
He cradled me close and granted relief.
“My child, I’m here, and I want you to know,
I am your Father, and I won’t let you go.
I will always hold you, I’ll always be near,
And close to My Heart will I keep every tear.
Trials will come, and will be hard to bear,
But I’ll always know, and I’ll always be there
To love you, to hold you, to call you My own,
To grant you the blessings that I will make known.
The trials I send you—child, don’t you see?
I send them to bring you even Closer to Me.
