I'm going home, now to stay
Leaving here, I’m on my way
We’ve all fought hard, not just me
To keep our free country free
This has been my final fray
For so long I've been away
Hoping this would be the day
Now to see my family
I’m going home…
I’ll ne’er see these fields of gray
They have caused me such dismay
In this place I cannot be
I’m afraid of what I see
I’m so glad I cannot stay
I’m going home…
