"Our truest responsibility to the irrationality of the world is to paint or sing or write, for only in such response do we find the truth."
- Madeleine L'Engle

Pain and sorrow melt away
Save it for another day
When I’m up here, everything’s all right
From the warmest day to the coldest night
The swoosh of the lake as the waves hit the rock
Sitting in silence, no need to talk
I get a sense of my terrible smallness
Surrounded by the tress and their incredible tallness
The insignificance of all my problems in life
The overratedness of my daily strife
Our everyday struggles don’t mean too much
When we’re sitting here under mother nature’s touch
The sweet sound of the singing loon
The soft light of the rising full moon
Little is more appealing to me
Than the lake’s beauty and simplicity

I wrote this piece about a lake near a little town in Quebec, Canada called Rollet.
