The Bat
The midnight hour has come at last.
Time now to embrace my past
The darkness cloaks my evil guise.
Free now, I take to the skies
 Soaring now above you all,
 Rising to obey the call.
A cackling group of us converge,
You never can resist the urge.
A short meeting, then fly away.
Now I’m free to stalk my prey
 The night is my domain
Without it I do declare I’d go insane.
As morning approaches I must go in,
Never to see the sun. A punishment for my sin.
What did I do to deserve that?
Why I’m nothing but a humble bat.
