Pretty Lies that You Told Me
Holding on to one last shred of memory
The feeling of this is like eternity
The smooth movement of your words brings back the tide
Covers my eyes with the splash
 The water covers
 And I discover
The light that you brought wasn’t worth it
No light did you bring, you didn’t deserve
You let the flame glow and turned it out on me
And now I have nothing but the sea.

When I thought I was special
 You told me everything
 The leaves started falling
They were all lies to me
 Sitting here in silence
 Let them fall on me
 Let them fall.

I guess that’s what you get
The sunset came before the sunrise
And yet I still look for the glow
But now I know the truth
I had nothing but a memory
Of lies that you told just to get to me
I didn’t know how cold the sea could be
 Until I realized
There was never anyone beside me.
