You Can't Write a Poem About Losing a Loved One
The tears dry,

 the puddles of moisture evaporate

A lonely wave washes over you

 Helpless

 Abandoned

 You realize they’re gone,

 what do you do?

 Then the pain returns

 Gripping you

 Strangling you,

 until the tears return

 Hot,

 burning,

 gushing

 Your face covered in saltwater

After a while the crying stops,

 the ducts run dry

 Your eyes sting

 red as cherries

 You can’t hide it,

 but you try.

You will continue to try from this day on.
