They Lady

There lay in the bed,
Stiff but still responsive.
A smile tries to break through,
But her muscles too weak to function.

The sun breaks through,
The cloudy day now bright.
A lady bug flies through the window,
Lies upon her face.

The lady is here to bring you home,
They’re waiting on your arrival.
Lady stayed with her,
It was only a matter of time.

As those who loved her sat real close,
Her health became worse.
Lady disappeared a few moments before,
But came back to welcome her home.

Her spirit remains in our hearts,
Remains in our memory.
Her memory flies in the sky,
I see the ladies and I see her.

What inspired me to write this poem was the recent loss of my aunt who was vary close to me. It helped me to cope with what happened.
