"There are all kinds of courage. It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends." - Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Sometimes I get nervous when the door is open wide
Not for what might enter, but for what won’t stay inside
It brings me to the angel from the past who slipped away
The daylight of her presence that didn’t want to stay

A little girl, who loves some fun, is skipping in the street
Singing soft sweet symphonies to those she’s yet to meet

A little girl, and nothing’s wrong
But she’s all alone.

A little girl, and a sidestreet song
But she’s all alone.

A breeze blows though a window that I’m sure that I had closed
She was dancing past and opened it, I guess I would suppose
Bring me down some glowdust from the moon, far away
It lives in that gone angel – she may be lost but here she’ll stay.

A little girl, who does no wrong
Dances in the street
But for the grace of God, they think
Those she knows she’ll meet

A little girl, and nothing’s wrong
But she’s all alone.

A little girl, who cries far too long
When she’s all alone.

A little girl, who weaves a song
But she’s all alone.

A little girl, forgets she’s wrong
When she’s all alone.

I was listening to the song "Seven Years" by Norah Jones and I had this thought of a little girl, dancing and skipping on the streets. Not afraid of anything - or so she seems.
