Just, Maybe, 'Cause
Just, Maybe, ‘Cause
Maybe if I was a little older,
Maybe I could understand,
The inhumanity in the world and the injustice to fellow man.
Due to this, my playpen is now a safe room.
And my future is filled with war.
But right now I’ll grow up waiting to open that door.
Maybe if I got a little smarter,
Maybe I could understand,
The reason for a battlefield and the guns in their hand.
Due to this, there’s a recipe for a Revolution,
And History is for learning about Wars.
But right now I’ll take more classes waiting to open that door.
Now I am a little older,
And yet I still don’t understand,
Why we have to fight each other on this holy land.
From this, I can’t see past these empty nights,
Or the people’s hallow tears.
And right now growing old won’t help past the fear.
Now I got a little smarter,
And yet I still don’t understand,
Why instead of bringing peace, we are killing man.
From this, nothing good has really happened,
Or has seemed to seize.
We should be ashamed, spreading war like disease.
