If I had the power…

Tears would turn into laughter, and there wouldn’t be any more sadness.

Hate would turn in to love, and violence wouldn’t exist.

Families wouldn’t be torn apart, by grief, sickness, or anything else.

Dreams would come true, and nightmares would be shattered.

Worrying would stop.
If I had the power…

The world wouldn’t be so cruel, and life would have a heart.

There would be equality and acceptance, and only that.
But, since I don’t have the power…

Tears will still be shed, and sadness will still linger in the air.

Hate will be here, but no more or less than love would be.

Violence will still be committed, and people will still get hurt.

Families will be torn apart by things worse than imaginable.

Dreams will still be dreamt, and nightmares will still come true.

Worrying will continue.
I don’t have the power…
So the world will be the same, and life still won’t have a heart.
Equality won’t be known, and neither would acceptance.
But…

Those who live in the world possess the power to change the world, so with every little bit of love and acceptance,
Tears will turn into laughter, and there won’t be any more sadness.
Hate will turn into love, and violence won’t exist.
Families won’t be torn apart by grief, sickness, or anything else.
Dreams will come true, and nightmares will be shattered.
Worrying will stop.
And above all…
The world will change, and life just might have a heart.
Equality will be widespread, and the world will accept.
If I had the power…
I wouldn’t need the power because it would really be in everyone.
So…
Take a chance and make a difference in the world.
Every little bit counts.

The author's comments:
I hope people can just realize how the world can be change if everyone just helps a bit. I hope that after they read this, they will have the inspiration to go out into the world and make a difference in someone else's life, even if it is as little as making someone smile, because that really isn't as little as it sounds.

Indeed, every bit counts: a smile, a kind word, a warm gesture to accept... out of pure, unconditional and sacrificial love; And the love is in rooted in Christ . Sophia: Great job! I love it. Keep it up. God bless! Seehope

It is a wonderful poem. I can not imagine it is written by a young girl. You have shown your talents in writing. Your peom reveals a powful message: if anyone just loves a little more, the world would be much better. We need to learn how to love not hate. Smile more, laugh more and enjoy life more. Girl, life is beautiful and precious because we know we only one life. If we choose to hate, one life is too long. If we choose to to love, we want millions of new lives. Great work!!!

Good job. It is so true that we often feel weak and powerless.I pray that we,being rooted and established in God's love, may have power and make the world better place together.

This piece of poetry really touched me. I agree the world can be an awful place, but if each of us does our part to make it a better place, then it will be.
