The Perfect Night

The stars are shinning brightly
The moon, she sparkles too
The night shines like diamonds
And lights up the evening dew
The rushing river reflects the sky
And the minnows can be seen
Fireflies glitter in the air
As they weave between the trees
From the chirping of the crickets
To the whistle of the wind
This is a perfect, peaceful night
That seems to have no end
The snowflakes shimmer as they fall
The beauty of this night is awe
The stars, the moon, the snow, the dew
The peaceful night I never knew
