Two Halves to My Soul

I have two halves to my Soul
one is Snow, the other Coal
the Coal stays hidden
in the deepest
part of my mind
and it's the bleakest
Soul that I have ever seen in my life
it feeds on pain and lives on strife
the Coal outgrows the snow
and in my heart I've always known
that the Coal was my true half
that the Coal was my only path

The author's comments:
I always feel like I'm two people inside myself, but I only show one side of myself to others, (the Snow) which is the more innocent, the more caring, the nicer side. But I've always thought that I was hiding the real me, the me that is more assertive, the me that stands up for herself and isn't always smiling and happy, the Coal.
