life is like a rose
with friends lifely connected
until someone breaks off
and falls unprotected

every rose has its thorns
or so they say
but which thorn will prick you
and get the drop of blood today

friends and life come and go
as roses begin to die
then you watch closely
and see there's somethingto realize

life is a mystery
well that's my saying
but how many lives you get
is how many you're needing

Like a Rose is a confusing poem
well that's what I've heard said
all I will say is a I told you so
when your rose is completely dead

I know that this was written in 2009, but its 2023 and I absolutely love this! I can picture it perfectly in my mind and can relate to the poem’s deeper meaning.

nice... it was a way of explaining isolationg from a group... the understanding of life as well as the true meaning being having tue friends and family... no matter what... not letting go of those who care about you and vice versa

to me it looks like a poem about groups of people and if someone loses their place in a group they lose part of themself (a drop of blood) which may be good or bad... and it's warning you that you need the people you might exclude and when your mistake takes it's toll then the writer of the poem will just say "I told you so".
