I see you
On the other side of the room
Looking at me
What do you see?
What are you thinking?
What can you see that I cannot?
Do you see me for who I really am
Or something I’m not?
Can you see behind my mask?
Do you see me
For who you want me to be?
Do you judge me
By the rumors you’ve heard?
Do you see
Who I want to be?
Can you see behind my mask
Of confidence and security?
Can you see behind the veil
Of lies they tell?
I see when
You stare at me
from the other side of the room
can you see in my eyes?
Can you tell this is only a disguise?
Just the act I put on
So no one will see me?
but you can see me
you do see
my mask that I wear to this
stupid masquerade
you do see
through my act
and my veil
how can you see all of that
from the other side of the room?
