Paper Heart

She is broken
into peices
torn apart
by those
who she thought
would mean more.
She has lived
through times
where her heart
never once
felt loved
and where a smile
never once
embraced her face.
She is lost
in a world
where people
say things
they don't mean.
She is full
of love to share
but is too
fragile
to show it.
She is living
with a paper heart
that has one
too many tears in it.
She is looking
for that something
to tape it
back together
and to make the world
change perspectives.
