The car starts up
A loud rumbling outside
I open up my sleepy eyes
I glance at the clock it's three a.m.
Why on earth aren't they in bed?
I hear screaming my mother’s voice
Crying sobbing, this is his choice
I had fallen asleep to the sound of their fighting
Now I'm sure he's never coming back.

I jump out of bed my night gown is twisted
I jump down the stairs two at a time
I fly out the door and scream "Daddy!"
He looks up and smiles grimly and waves as he backs out of the drive
He is never coming back

I stand in that spot staring blankly
My life twisting and spiraling
What will become of my and my family?
Now that he's never coming back

Favorite Quote:
I have too many favorite quotes. But here's two:
"Just remember that you're unique, just like everybody else."
"Yesterday was history, tomorrow's a mystery, and today's a gift. That's why it's called present!"
Chocolate Rocks!!!

I like the theme and the rhythm of the poem . . . good job :D
