Analysis of Baseball

It’s about

the field

The four white bases,

three squares and one pentagon.

You might think it is not a “big deal,”

but trust me it is.

You can feel the tension build up

once the player steps on the side of home plate

Will they swing or not?

Will it be a foul or not?

How far will the ball travel?

Will the player make it to the base in time?

Suddenly,

a loud whack fills the silence.

The player swings!

The baseball makes contact with the bat,

the player runs as fast as they can

while a ball flies in any direction,

from hand to hand,

Mitt to Mitt.

Umpires too,

we depend on them.

their judgement,

Will they make the right call or not?

Rage fills if the call is wrong,

if they called the ball a strike.

These things do matter

in a game.

It’s all about us, the fans, the players

and the umpires too.

This poem is in the Baseball genre, and it is just about the analysis of what happens in a baseball game.
