Taken, But Never Credited
They love black culture
Our food, music, and style
but hate black people.
They love our braids and wear them as their own
but doesn't know the history behind them.
They love soul food
chicken, watermelon, and kool-aid
but when we enjoy them it's a "stereotype".
They love R&B, Hip-Hop, and Pop but hates
the people who made the genres popular.
They copy our styles yet despise the people
that wore them first.
They call us ghetto, uncivilized, criminals.
They say we're loud and dehumanize us
yet talk about us, make skits about us
Obsessed with the people they claim to hate.
They love what we create
But hate the creator.

This poem is about how other people treat black culture but doesn't treat the people the same way they treat their creation.
