Pickles and Plums
John was a man of very few words
And when he spoke he was never heard
Often times, he was seen with two foods
Pickles and plums no matter the mood
Sitting on the same rock by the ocean
Looking at his reflection, feeling no emotion
He had so much to say but no words to speak
On the outside he was strong but on the inside he was weak
Now he began to feel the pain
Warm tears poured out of his eyes like rain
All he saw in his reflection
Was a man who couldn’t be further from perfection
Pickles and plums numbed the pain
And at his place he no longer remained
The waves had picked him up from the rock
He had so much to say but now no body to talk.
