Post-Braces
My retainer is
A mouth guard for spider crawl-ins
And an extra set of teeth to brush.
When I bite it I feel solid gel
And I slurp fluid like a gusher-
Spit or that flecked, minty stuff
 That never rinsed out.
I chew it like my brother used to chew his paff
 And it does not squeak
 Like our doggy’s stuffed duckling.
When I push it with my tongue
 It falls into my lap.
 Those braces couldn’t do that.
