Requiem
I thought of you today
 With love in my heart
 It's been awhile
 Since the last time
 You have crossed my mind
 Its been even longer
 Since the last time
 I saw you

It seems like the days add up
Into weeks and weeks come together
 Into years but
The days just do not seem like
 They matter
 If you aren’t here
 Experiencing them with me

 I know you are happier
 Where ever you may be
And I know that I’m not
 Where ever I go
 I just wish that you
 Were there with me

 I get this feeling
 Whenever I feel the wind
 Hit my back
 And flutter past me
 That its you
 Trying to tell me
 That you still care
 I hope its true

 This is a requiem
 For you
 I hope that you found
 Where you need to be
I hope that you found happiness
And are close to that sun
 That you loved

 I thought of you today
 With love in my heart
 But also with some sadness
Knowing that it will be sometime
Till I get to see you again
 But then again
I can see you whenever I want
 You may have gone
But lord knows that my memory
 Still remains
