The Morning Glory stands alone,

closed off from the rest.

Tainted by pollution that surrounds.

Petals folded up,

protecting its sweet nectar from killer bees,

Shielding its core from the harsh, heavy rain

Not willing to share what is most valuable inside,

Enclosed by darkness, unaware of the potential it serves.

Faint light rises above,

casting heat over the soft, shy bud

Vibrant rays deliver warmth to the Floral

soaking up its kindness.

After this intimate process, only then it is able to bloom.

A bond inevitable, revealing its sweet, precious, nectar

Unfolding true beauty to the world.

The author's comments:

I would say that I have grown significantly, from the kind of person who stays quiet to keep the peace, no matter how much something affects them to being able to speak my mind freely. I was able to change with the support of my friends. I still have a lot of growing to do but thanks to them I have made a lot of improvement. They were my inspiration for this poem.
