Storms are Named After People
I never liked thunderstorms,
The vulnerability of it all.
I never understood the appeal until I was in the Eye.
The delicate pitter patter of the Rain,
consumed by the raging anger of the Thunder.
The icy cold embraces the fiery hot,
with the most delicate link.
How two fronts collide
And entire lives are changed.
I never liked thunderstorms.
But then the Heavens crack,
And adoration oozes from the cloudy sky,
And even the darkest corners are lit up,
by the quickest flash of lightning.
Swirling wind does nothing but make me smile now.
I fell in love with thunderstorms.
How even they can create beauty in darkness.
The drizzle starts tender and sweet,
Until I am surrounded by it’s downpour.
The gentle caress of a billowing storm.
I fell in love with thunderstorms.
But the infatuation quickly turns into deceit.
Storms are so quick to pass,
And the wreckage is all that remains.
But it's okay,
I'll name the prettiest storm after you,
Because after all,
I am just a teenager in love with thunderstorms.
