The Reborn Peace
The winds flowing through the field of flowers,
brushing upon their cream petals and pulling at their thin stems.
A towering tree sits behind,
offering a shady spot for any weary traveler.
A monument of an older time still stands proud on its foundation.
A small flight of stairs allows entrance into this past.
Two pillars hold strong at their remaining roots.
The sunset beams a radiant amber,
leaving harsh shadows to follow anything in its view.
A curious horse strides into this forgotten rest stop,
laying down to be its last inhabitant.

I'm currently a senior in high school. This poem tells about a calm place where time has been brutal but mother nature has healed the wounds. It would be a calming place to take a nap or to read a book.
