I feel hurt by the way some people say,

“Our human nature is mean, and it's ok!”

It is not ok, that life leaves us in disarray.

For kindness I mourn, lost in the way.

Kindness is what made me warm

What made us happy day to day.

For I loved to see benevolence be the norm

And all the smiling faces on full display.

But, we can move on! Get back to how things were before

Kindness can be found again, we must not lose hope

Search deep inside, and find an end to this social war

Set yourself free from spite, and untangle the binding rope.
