Laughter fills the room as
The man told the joke. Nobody
Around him knew the truth or
What happened the day before, but
Hands clapped and voices shouted.
Amidst the laughter, a whispered plea for silence
Beneath the weight of the world, theres
A heart with heavy burdens. Eyes like shattered glass and
A fragile smile concealing
The shear torment and fire within.
The final act of the show
Was upon him, but
He couldn't play the part due
To a sudden rush of emotions
That couldn't be held.
