Where I'm From
I am from loud music that fills both your ears and body
From the laughter coming deep within' you, laughter so
painful yet you yearn for more.
I am from lights in the night sky as you swim in lake water
Where I am from the rooms are quiet except the tapping
noise of a keyboard and sometimes the rain on my window.
Covers so warm against skin in a place so cold.
A place where the touch of your hands is like ice.
Where I am from the holidays are celebrated with smiles
and warm embraces.
An Alexa plays playlists for Halloween music as decorations
are set.
The place I come from has my friends come to it.
A place where we walk through the streets without care as rain
pours onto us.
Getting soda and candy in a small shop that smells of ink and
plastic.
A place where plants do not grow, a selfish wish a mother and father
hold for their children
A place where time stops and peace is found
A place where a warm light casts upon a dark bedroom
I am from both the rain and snow
From toxic and friendly
I'm from many places and things bundled into one set of vibrant flowers.
From colors and hues mixed together in one, just like you.
So, where do you come from?
