The Poemlitical Divide
My grandpa died in the war.
My dad was killed by a cop.
Why don’t they care?
He sacrificed his life for this country.
The left is ungrateful.
He was just trying to walk home.
The right is heartless.
He had a family to care for.
I wish they had one ounce of respect for what he fought for.
I want my dad to be more than a statistic.
Everything I do is for him.
I want to protect my right to speak.
I feel attacked.
They act like I'm uneducated.
I wish my voice was heard.
I feel attacked.
They act like I don’t belong here.
It doesn’t matter if I speak.
Nobody listens.
