Why are people so mean?

     My mom tells me, “they just want to get your attention.” 

     My dad tells me, “ they are insecure about themselves.” 

     But I tell myself, “ maybe it's true what they are saying.”

                                                                                             Why are people so mean? 

My sister says, “ you are so much better than them.”

My boss tells me that “I have accomplished so much.”

But I tell myself “ other people see me in different ways.”

My grandma tells me “ I light up everyone's day.”

My cousin tells me “ I am perfect.”

So I tell myself “ I don't care, I am me and people can be mean.”
