I remember a very big sense of sympathy when I walked into class one day. I opened the door into class after having a long walk to the school, it was in the fall so it was pretty cold out while it was raining. I hear a weird tone over the classroom like something had happened that I wasn't aware of. The reading corner was empty and quiet, everyone was at their desks talking before class started and the brick walls were very cold. Everyone whispers like how mice squeak in the walls. The teacher was sitting in silence, not sure on how to proceed. This school year was the teacher's first year of teaching so she did not have the experience that the other teachers had in these situations. A girl in my class came into school that day and was in a very sad mood with tears flowing down her face like a river going down a waterfall, her eyes were brown but covered with tears. The Teacher did not understand what had happened to the girl. The Teacher did not understand what to do.

The girl had trouble speaking because of how sad she seemed and told the teacher in mumbles as to what happened the day prior. The girl's dog had apparently passed away the day before unexpectedly and she was still wrapping her head around the event. The Teacher seemed unable to figure out what to do with this situation so she did not really know how to respond to the situation. I remember feeling bad for her that school day and that day just stuck with me for some reason, I don’t know why though. I think it stuck with me because of how sad she was. The class feeling bad stuck with me also because they actually cared. The Teacher just didn’t seem to understand what to do. I feel like this was important to me because it showed that others can have bad days as well and Teachers don't always know what to do. I feel after this event I have been nicer to others. I am also more respectful to others and care about others.
