The Phone Not Taken

Two phones elegantly sat on display upon a silver stand

And my apologies as I could only choose one

And not be a man of riches, although they were both grand

And there the apple and samsung stood as I put out my hand

As I Inspected each phone, they glistened with light from the sun

Then took the samsung as it was just as advanced

And being perhaps the better company, but with less fame

As the phone was cheap yet still entranced

Although they were really both enhanced

As they were very similar, even about the same

And on that evening the store was empty

As I was the only one to step a foot in that day

Oh, I kept the Iphone for some time, as it was trendy

Yet knowing one bad decision can lead to another, times twenty

I doubted if I will ever again walk through that doorway

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Ages ago, at store I will never go back to

Two phones sat on display, and I-

I took the one less chosen by

And that made a difference I will never go into

The author's comments:

I created this poem in 8th grade because are teacher wanted to make a poem that played off the famous story, "The Road Not Taken." I made sure to us high level words to really show my writing improvement.
