it seems so easy
to just run away
from it all
leave it all behind
like a forgotten
suitcase at the airport
find new parents
new friends
buy a new identity
off a shelf
[special offer today
on glossy
californian blondes]
talk different
walk different
be different
when really
you're not that different at all
[are you?]
you think you're the only one
with problems
the only one who cries every night
the only one who's invisible
the only one who thinks, why me?
the only one who doesn't know
the definition of
friends
or
family
or
love
because she's been broken&stepped on
too many times
when in reality
[that word you never like to use]
you're just one in a pack of a million
but you're so immune to thinking
there are other people
invisible people
who cry
and think why me?
heartbroken&scared&angry&confused
it'd never crossed your mind
that there are other people out there
just like you
who blast heavy metal to block out the pain
and take long walks to the middle of nowhere
trying to figure out life
and don't know what they've done to deserve this
[whatever it is]
it seems so easy
to just run away
from it all
leave it all behind
like a forgotten
suitcase at the airport
find new parents
new friends
buy a new identity
off a shelf
[but isn't it so much easier
to just stick around
and be strong when things fall apart
and put it all back together again?]
you'll save money
[forget that special offer]
and i crossmyheart&hopetodie promise
that i'll lend you some superglue
to put all the pieces
together again

An applaudable piece of work. I think almost every single teen on TeenInk can relate to this. It is indeed well written and ends postively which is the thing I like best about it.
