Poppy Fields

darkness
pauses
and turns into this moment,
where
a nightmare is reality
forever caught in a place
between two worlds
this horizon meets space,
a daring fall
you never could catch
anyways.
pull back the gun
heavy in your hands
and you hear it sigh
an hourglass
turned
whispers like
hail
remember
the poppy fields
trigger clicks
and those bursts of red
bloom
you close your eyes
so the target never
leaves

this is absolutely incredible. i've read some of your other poems; you are an extremely talented writer. i only hope to be half the poet you are, fantastic job. you have a gift. you place words in such an order that its no longer a poem, its a feeling, its an emotion, its tangible. i love the way you wrote this, five stars
