I sit and wait for your arrival,

long and excruciatingly so. I

ponder in my solitude, maybe

you will not show.

I sit on the edge of this pier,

I pound my fist on the

wood, how I long to be

in your presence if only I

could. My wait becomes longer,

as minute turns to hours, hours

turns to days. I sit here with no company,

only the sun's rays.

Anxiousness fills my mind, as tears

fill my eyes, the longer I cannot find you,

my spirit slowly dies.

But I dig deep, and I find strength.

Strengh for me to be, Becouse my

future, my exsistance does not depend

on you, it depends on me.

This poem was based on the expression "I'm waiting for my ship to come in." The message is that we don't have to wait for any change of events to occur, the outcome is on us.
