The weight of adolescence
Why do we go to high school?
To learn or to suffer like a fool?
Every day is a test of my will,
A battle I fight with no thrill.
I sit in classrooms, bored and alone,
Embracing thoughts wandering, far from home.
I dream of a life that's yet to come,
Where I’ll be free from this humdrum.
But for now, I’m stuck in this place,
With nothing to do but keep up the pace.
My heart is heavy with the weight of it all,
Hoping when will I break free from this thrall.
So I count the days until I graduate,
Until I can leave this cruel fate.
But until then, I’ll keep on trying,
Even when it feels like I’m slowly dying.
