Ode to my mom
Ode to my Mom.
“Fix your tiara, it’s tilting”
Those comforting words lifted me up,
The feeling of a mothers love is like a warm embrace that never lets go.
You raised me when everyone told you,
You couldn’t.
Your love is like a cozy blanket,
And when things get hard you’ve showed me to crank it,
To never let my tiara slip when things get hard, you can never quit.
Your ego is like a fierce tiger,
I will always stick beside her,
She is like the the roots of a tree,
Providing stability and nourishment for her family to grow,
And will do anything to keep me from being low.

My inspiration for this poem was to show appreciation for my mom. I tried to use imagery, similes and metaphors to show appreciation for how strong my mom was trying to raise me.
