Nature's Dictator
Look at our planet, if only time could shift
Our oceans are running black with oil
Because we, the living, destroyed life's great gift
Our waters can’t recover nearly as swift
Since we let them suffer from chemicals in our soil
Look at our planet, if only time could shift
Our pollutants inescapable, wherever we sift
The toxins countless, the wildlife despoiled
Because we, the living, destroyed life’s great gift
And yet, our ways, keeping open that rift
Between nature and industry, which remains ever spoiled
Look at our planet, if only time could shift
The water can’t support us, it's not enough to lift
Any human problems, it’s now a dump for our toils
Because we, the living destroyed life’s great gift
No care for ocean health, we’re all just spendthrifts
We think we rule the seas, we think we are royals
Look at our planet, if only time could shift
Because we, the living, destroyed life’s great gift
