From Prison to the Frontlines: Thousands of Russian Convicts Sent To Fight in Ukraine
Russia against Ukraine, an infamous war
Despite their size, Ukraine is fighting strong, and the Russians are desperate.
I watch from afar, in the eyes of the opponent.
Knowing I carry the blood of the enemy.
“A private set called the Wagner group, they decided to recruit Russian prisoners and put them on the front lines. Are Russians that desperate to try and win?” I said.
Glancing down at the article. I read aloud “If you fight for a half a year, then you are granted freedom from your sentence.”
Overthinking, crazy thoughts flying through my head. Criminals, really, are being given their opportunity of freedom. If they fight alongside Russia and live they will be set… free.
220 agreed to sign that contract, 220 agreed to participate in the war, 220 agreed to join the special military operation.
Overthinking, thoughts overflowing, what if I was still there. Would I be part of the war, would I be forced to?
The people of Russia are fine with this, it's madness, insane even. They would rather criminals running free amongst them than have them or one of their family members drafted.
The biggest question for them is after 200+ criminals get let loose around the country, what will happen?
Overthinking, what if that was me…
