mom
Mom,
The glue holding me together
The light at the end of the dark tunnel
An ordinary piece of coal
Beaten until the shining diamond was revealed
A surprise
It took years to find the real you
All we had to do was remove the extra layers
Me a flightless bird
You a soaring crow
Me the worst of you
You the best of me
We are each other
In different eras
At different points of time
