Ignition
I felt the fire,
as I admire
the sudden dire.
I felt the rain,
my heart will forever abstain,
their love I will forever acquire.
They became my new supplier,
my heart craved them prior.
I wish they would explain,
or fix my heart ingrain,
Your love overtook my senses like gunfire.
An explanation is really all I require.
Hoping someone can take me higher.
I try my hardest to maintain,
a positive mindset I must obtain.
You are nothing but a liar,
yet you are all I desire.
Answers, again are all I inquire.
You saw me as a mundane,
a fire started in my heart and you were the propane.
My heart would sing for you like a choir,
your damaging words will never inspire.
My mind I must now rewire,
for you I went insane.
Now the love I have for you I must detain.

As a teenager I have gone through more than one type of heartbreak and so I wrote this poem that captured that exact feeling. The feeling of being betrayed or just feeling like nothing was real is an extremely scary feeling. I wrote this hoping that someone going through this exact thing did not feel alone.
