The Days Were A Daze
My childhood was a haze. Those long and tiring old days
Playdates on the playground arguing over who's it
Time than was just a simple daze
On a rainy day hockey spot-it always won me over
Running around on the country club pool deck
My childhood was a haze. Those long and tiring old days
My knees cut open from a day on the blacktop
Didn’t matter to me as long as my team won
Time than was just a simple daze
Family dinners without an argument. That would have been nice
Nothing was right. Always bad and wrong, than the fight ever night
My childhood was a haze. Those long and tiring old days
Nights I couldn’t fall asleep to a sound way worse than thunder
The time I wish neither team won
Time than was just a simple daze
The time I won my body felt as if it was cut from head to toe from the rough blacktop, but it wasn’t
A game I liked to play was Twister, but it always felt like Twister was playing me
My childhood was a haze. Those long and tiring old days
Time than was just a simple daze
