she walks home with me
drown out the sounds of distant car
focus on the sun's blinding glare
spontaneously so aware
A ghost, observing from afar
forget your life, look to your star
the wind whispers and gently heal
she never denies an appeal
a stranger, alone, in a park
sob at the sky as it goes dark
“i wish humans weren’t real”

My poem is a decima, this one is a style popular in Puerto Rico. Each line has eight syllables and it has a unique rhyming pattern (AABBAACCDDC). I thought it would be interesting and supplemental to the message my poem is trying to convey.
