In The Darkness
She is an angel in the darkness,
Who is stuck in despair
Who is unable to escape, and unable to care.
Down the endless abyss,
She takes a leap into the unknown.
She lost her wings, her halo and light
Oh what a heartbreaking sight.
She had the courage and strength,
She was determined to find a way out.
The darkness seemed so vast and so deep
She questioned if it was a prison or just a sleep
She thought there was no way out.
But then she looked up,
A glimmer of hope
The stars twinkled in the sky.
To be an angel again, full of light and grace
To bring joy and hope to this dark place
She opened her wings and rose to the sky
The angel was free, no longer to cry.

This piece was inspired by an animation my peer had made for me. When I saw the animation, the thought immediately came to my mind that I should write a poem about the vision.
