Ode to my Birkenstocks
Simple footwear how illustrious through and through
Ancient moccasins envy you
Modesty posses the feet in which you cover
Vanity shall never discover
How wonderful you are in every way
From black tie to every day
You mold to my toes and I do see
How you are perfectly fit for me
Those who criticize you lack simplicity
And bask in toxicity
They revel in eccentricity
And wallow in inauthenticity
But put aside the cynics my dear
Together we can trek the frontier
And walk through the craters of the moon
You & me, until our doom.
