Followed
Walking down the road,
Heart darting around in my chest,
Feeling like it’s about to explode.
Panic drains my face,
As I hear something behind me
Step…Step…
Walking now at a faster pace,
The darkness of night creeping in like a noose,
The sidewalk seems too narrow,
The pebbles on the ground running loose.
My hands begin to sweat.
It’s coming closer.
I don’t want to have any regret.
My mind is full of distress.
The sound is getting louder.
Step…Step…Step…
All these thoughts I want to repress.
A tap on my shoulder
A chill runs down my spine
My body temperature is getting colder,
But when I look behind me,
I finally realize
It was all just in my head.
