Escapism
Oh, how my affection grows
With every turn of a page,
And the surrounding sound slows
The quiet chatter has fade—
Sucked into a far out world
A place that isn’t my own,
A vortex with colors swirled
Pulls me through to take me home.
Here I am the Chosen One,
The one who will save the day,
The hero who outlives the sun,
The girl who found her own way.
My mind resides somewhere far
Whilst my limbs are planted here;
Real life never seemed so hard—
Ink on paper I hold dear.
